Nottingham East Midlands airport car park wins award
09.03.06
A car park at Nottingham East Midlands Airport has been given an award for reducing car crime levels. Managers of the airport car park have statistics to show that motorists who park there have a 1 in 250,000 chance of being a victim of car crime.
This is the second year running that Nottingham East Midlands Airport Parking has won the Park Mark Safer Parking Award. Car crime has been almost halved at the Castle Donington site, compared with figures from the same period last year.
The airport's general manager of retail and parking, Jamie Christon said, 'Every incident of vehicle crime is treated extremely seriously. Passengers have the peace of mind that they can leave their cars on-site when they jet off on their holidays.'
The Association of Chief Police Officers set up The Park Mark Award scheme, with the aim of reducing crime and the fear of crime.
