Ireland West Airport Knock has announced that Ryanair will begin operating a new route between Knock and Nottingham East Midlands Airport. The 4 times a week service will commence on February 27th 2007 and will complement Ryanair's existing daily scheduled flights from Knock to London Luton and London Stansted airports.
The new route will bring 60,000 additional passengers per annum through Ireland West Airport Knock. Welcoming the new route Liam Scollan, MD at the airport said: 'We are actively striving to expand further the Airport's network of scheduled flight services into the UK and the addition of this new route will provide a valuable service to our holiday and business passengers both in our region and in Britain.'
'Tourists on this route will fill 113,000 extra bednights in our accommodation sector and bring in an estimated €8m in additional tourism spend to the West and North West region.' he added.
To celebrate the new route, Ryanair is making 15,000 seats on all three routes from Knock available for just €2.99 (one-way excluding taxes and charges). For more information click on the link or visit www.ryanair.com.
