bmibaby tests online check-in at Nottingham East Midlands airport
18.05.06
Check-in is set to get simpler for passengers travelling with bmibaby. The low-cost airline has launched a service allowing passengers to check-in online.
The new system aims to improve the airport experience by allowing customers to cut lengthy queues at the check-in desk by allowing passengers to check-in online and print their own boarding cards. It is open to those carrying just hand luggage as passengers with bags weighing more than seven kilograms will still have to check them in.
bmibaby is currently testing the service for those flying from Nottingham East Midlands Airport, however, the airline aims to eventually roll the service out to the other airports that it flies from - including Heathrow and Gatwick.
Online check-in is becoming increasingly popular with airlines looking for services to distinguish them from their competitors. Europe's biggest low-cost airlien, Ryanair, introduced its version - Check-n-Go - across much of Europe earlier this year.
