'Full steam ahead' for rail link plans

Network Rail plans to have a rail link to East Midlands Airport in place by the end of 2008, the BBC news website reports. The rail link has been in the planning stage for years, but Network Rail's Ben Herbert said the project is now 'full steam ahead'.
Work on the parkway project, which would connect the airport to nearby cities and London, could begin as early as next spring. When finished, there will be a shuttle service to the airport and 1000 parking spaces.
